With the Sorcerer Supreme himself swooping magnificently into theaters this weekend, we could think of no better topic for today’s Five by Friday than our favorite fictional magicians, sorcerers, and other wielders of magic. To be included on this list, a character does not necessarily need to do actual magic, but they do need to either consider themselves a magician (either by profession or in actuality) or be indisputably adept with magic.
Once again, we avoided overlap, which means even though some characters share affection from all of us, they only appear on one list.
