Around the Web

We said goodbye to an icon of entertainment and comedy, as Robin Williams passed away at the age of 63. He starred in countless films that made an indelible mark on all of our lives, including (but not even remotely limited to) Hook, Dead Poet’s Society, Aladdin, and Good Morning, Vietnam. He will be greatly missed, and remembered always.

Activision has announced that they will be releasing some old Sierra classics, starting with a reimagined Kings Quest. That’s right, in 2015 you can be reunited with Sir Graham and once again try to save the kingdom!

Warner Brothers sneaks in a name change for Edge of Tomorrow prior to it’s Bluray/DVD release. It’s being marketed as Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow on the disc cover and on iTunes. Will this help boost sales after the fact?

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge picked up a lot of steam last week and a lot of celebs including Robert Downey Junior, Stephen Amell, Colton Haynes and Emily Bett Rickards, and Chris Pratt all took the challenge and donated to the cause.

Dragon Con has added Jeremy Shada, Niki Yang, and Jessica DiCicco (Adventure Time), Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time), Scarlett Byrne (Harry Potter), Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies), Gates McFadden (Star Trek: TNG), Manu Bennett (Arrow, the Hobbit), Evanna Lynch (Harry Potter), Joanne Kelly (Warehouse 13), and Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam to the guest list (see the full list here). We can’t wait to make a trip to the Walk of Fame to see everyone!

If you haven’t see Guardians of the Galaxy yet (And seriously, what are you waiting for? GO! Now!), then you’ll want to steer clear of this final link. Marvel has released the footage from the first post credits scene. It’s adorable and the ultimate cure for a bad week. We’ve had it on loop for days.
