We were surprised too.<\/p>\n<p>So, while last year we were able to fit all the shows we were anticipating, old and new, into just <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avengingforce.com\/?p=902\">one post<\/a>, this year we&#8217;ll be splitting it up into New Shows and Returning Shows. Below are all the new shows we either have already sampled or are planning to try out, their trailers, how many of us are watching, and how committed we are to sticking with each of them.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare to fill up your DVR queues, because this season of television looks\u00a0<em>really\u00a0<\/em>good.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"730\" height=\"411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MpEdJ-mmTlY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Atlanta<\/b><\/em><b>, FX<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who\u2019s Watching:<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All of us<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Brought Us Here: Donald Glover (and, in the cases of Teija and Sarah, mad love for their hometown.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commitment: Sarah thought the\u00a0pilot was absolutely incredible, and while Teija and Lauren have yet to start it, we&#8217;re all\u00a0pretty committed to at least giving it at least the entire season. Plus, for Sarah, it\u00a0brings a little bit of Atlanta into her\u00a0Nashville apartment and she\u00a0loves that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"730\" height=\"411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KJqg6J4JeLg?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Conviction,\u00a0<\/b><\/em><b>ABC<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who\u2019s Watching: Teija and Sarah<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Brought Us Here: Hayley Atwell. And a deep-seated love of procedural dramas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commitment: Despite the lackluster trailer, Teija is here in support of Ms. Atwell and will therefore watch as long as she can stand it. Meanwhile, Sarah has an undying love and devotion to procedural dramas and Hayley Atwell is the delicious icing on the cake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Crown | Official Trailer | Netflix\" width=\"730\" height=\"411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JWtnJjn6ng0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em><b>The Crown<\/b><\/em><b>, Netflix<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who\u2019s Watching: All of us<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Brought Us Here: Trailer, the promise of a female-led period drama, and Matt Smith<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commitment: This is a \u201cwatch one episode and we\u2019ll see\u201d sort of show. While the trailers make it look great, Netflix originals tend to be pretty hit or miss, so there\u2019s a lot riding on the first episode. This is also one we probably won\u2019t jump on the second it drops, as Netflix gives us the freedom to wait to watch until after all the network shows break for the winter. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"730\" height=\"411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BL8Rl2n2C6Y?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Frequency<\/b><\/em><b>, The CW<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who\u2019s Watching: Lauren and Sarah<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Brought Us Here: The movie <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frequency<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is so great we don\u2019t care that it makes no sense, and we\u2019re not even talking about the whole \u201cham radio communicates through time using the Aurora Borealis\u201d premise. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commitment: The show looks almost exactly like the movie, which may be great (because we love the movie) or may be terrible (because the show has to last a whole season instead of only two hours). We were drooling just at the premise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commitment: We really enjoyed the first two episodes (hello John Smoltz cameo!), and we\u2019re willing to give it the time to show us what it can do. If it continues to go well, we\u2019ll be here through the end.
