Today marks the first official day of summer, (though if you live anywhere like us you\u2019ve already been experiencing summer levels of heat for a few weeks now) and thoughts start to turn to vacations and relaxing instead of work or school. <\/span>And while I\u2019m not in school anymore and summer vacations seem like nothing but a long ago memory, it\u2019s nice to dream about where I\u2019d like to go if given the chance. So, here are my top picks for the best fictional vacation spots!<\/span><\/p>\n

The Burrow, Harry Potter<\/i><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Is there anyone out there who read the Harry Potter books and didn\u2019t want to visit the Weasleys’ home? I didn\u2019t think so. Just imagine all the fun you could have! Playing quidditch in the back field, flinging gnomes over the fence, banding together with Ginny to start an epic prank war with the twins, and eating Mrs. Weasley\u2019s cooking. By the time your vacation comes to a close, you\u2019ll be begging the Weasleys to adopt you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hobbiton, The Lord of the Rings\/The Hobbit<\/i><\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a place to kick back and relax with no responsibilities beyond maybe drinking a few pints, this is the place for you. With its beautiful green hills, lakes, and cozy little hobbit holes, you\u2019ll find yourself wishing you never have to go home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Willy Wonka\u2019s Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory<\/i><\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you can find the right magic wardrobe to step through, you\u2019re on your way to an amazing, one-of-a-kind vacation. Narnia is vast and gorgeous, with something for everyone whether you prefer a beach view, a mountain cabin, or a quiet house in the woods. You can make friends with the locals, who might happen to be talking animals, dwarves, or trees. And be sure to keep an eye out for Aslan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wonderland, Alice in Wonderland<\/i><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Is it your birthday? No? Well that\u2019s fine, in Wonderland you\u2019ll be able to celebrate your very merry unbirthday at a tea party! Or if you prefer to live a bit more dangerously, you could battle it out with the Queen of Hearts! Wonderland has something for everyone!<\/span><\/p>\n

X-Mansion, Marvel Comics<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you feel like\u00a0you’re constantly struggling to fit in, a trip to the X-Mansion in upstate NY might be the perfect trip for you.
