All my friends know that if ever there’s a day where I don’t respond to a text chain with at least one GIF, I’ve probably been taken over by a pod person. I know, I know, some people don’t like GIFs, and if\u00a0that’s\u00a0you, that’s cool (but\u00a0also,\u00a0you probably shouldn’t give me your number). But for me,\u00a0I often find that text-only communication makes it hard to determine tone, and that’s where GIFs come in handy.<\/p>\n

For example, there’s a big difference between this:<\/p>\n

Same word, but the first one clearly implies\u00a0an irritated tone, while the second is more pleasantly surprised. You might not be able to tell which someone meant by a text alone, but the intent comes through loud and clear in a GIF.<\/p>\n

Plus, sometimes you don’t need words at all, and just want\u00a0a visual representation of your feelings, such as:<\/p>\n

I’d be hard pressed to come up with words that could convey\u00a0that particular mood better than the above GIF.<\/p>\n

So in honor of Civil War Week, here are ten GIFs Marvel fans should have saved, for when words just aren’t enough.<\/p>\n
